Cleveland Swim Institute’s Pete Krusinski Will Stay In State, Verbally Commits to Buckeyes

NEW COMMIT: Brecksville, Ohio native Pete Krusinski has elected to stay in-state for his college career, verbally committing to the Ohio State Buckeyes as a member of the class of 2024.

Primarily a breaststroker and sprint freestyler, Krusinski swims year-round with Cleveland Swim Institute and owns a pair of Summer Juniors standards. He most recently notched a best time at Junior Nationals this past summer after recording two top-16 finishes at Cleveland Speedo Sectionals. Last winter, he raced four events at Juniors East and placed 17th in the 50 breast at NCSAs.

Also competing for Brecksville Broadview Heights High School, Krusinski is a three-time Ohio State Championship finalist. He placed seventh in the 100 breast as a junior after taking 16th in that event as well as 11th in the 100 free during his sophomore season.

He told Swimming World:

His best times include:

50 breast – 25.88
100 breast – 55.62
200 breast – 2:05.04
50 free – 20.79
100 free – 46.08
100 fly – 49.65

Krusinski has made continuous improvements the past two seasons, dropping three seconds in the 100 free, four in the 100 breast and eight in the 200 breast/100 fly. His versatility will be beneficial when he suits up for the Buckeyes as a member of the class of 2024 and he could find himself in a number of different events.
