Class of 2012 Swimming World Six Star Kendyl Stewart Choose College

PHOENIX, Arizona, July 9. THIS week, Swimming World six-star prospect Kendyl Stewart made her collegiate choice as one of the top blue chip recruits from the Class of 2012.

Stewart, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a serious threat in the butterfly events. Stewart has chosen to attend the University of Southern California.

"USC is perfect for me mostly because of the people," Stewart told Swimming World. "I feel completely comfortable with the coaching staff and I love the team. I'm excited to be a part of such a world-class group at an amazing university!"

Stewart swims for North Coast Aquatics and preps at La Costa Canyon. Her top time in the 100-yard fly is a 52.43, which would have qualified her for the A final at the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Championships. She also cleared the NCAA Division I B cut in the 100-yard free (49.77), 200-yard back (1:58.47) and 200-yard fly (1:58.18).
