CIF Sac-Joaquin Sectional Championships

LODI, California, May 25. THE CIF Sac-Joaquin Sectional Championships were held at Lodi High School in Lodi, California on Saturday, May 15.

St. Francis scored 333 points to capture the girls title, while Davis took second with 288 points. Granite Bay (214), Bella Vista (205), and Tokay (139) rounded out the top five.

For the boys, Jesuit won a slim 286-277 victory over Granite Bay. Del Oro (154), Davis (129), and Vista Del Lago (119) earned the other top five spots.

Girls Results
On the girls side, Lincoln's Kate Davey and Bella Vista's Alex Whitford each doubled up. Davey finished first in the 200 IM in 2:03.00, and she returned later for a 500 free victory in 4:59.09.

Meanwhile, Whitford won the 50 free in 23.56, as well as the 100 free, where she clocked 51.33.

Additionally, Tokay's Mary Griffith claimed the 200 free in 1:48.77, while Granite Bay's Hannah Calton took first in the 100 fly, posting a time of 53.00. Other winners included St. Francis' Sydney Johansen, who claimed the 100 back in 56.42, and El Dorado's Mikaela Macklin, who placed first in the 100 breast in 1:04.37.

St. Francis won two of the three relays, posting a 1:47.39 for the win in the 200 medley relay, as well as a 3:30.16 victory in the 400 free relay. Buena Vista beat St. Francis in the 200 free relay, posting a 1:37.71 for first.

Boys Results
Double winners in the boys competition included Davis' Trevor Allen and Roseville's Adam Jorgenson. Jorgensen took first in the 200 free in 1:38.56, before posting a 49.32 for a win the 100 fly in which three swimmers broke 50 seconds. Allen, meanwhile, won the 100 free in 45.56 and 100 breast in 55.84.

Allen's teammate Wade Allen won the 50 free in 20.99, just ahead of El Dorado's Aaron Vaccaro (21.04). Vista Del Lago's Josh Choi won the 200 IM in 1:51.98, and Oakmont's Evan Virtue took the 500 free in 4:26.22. Ponderosa's Ryan Pickett claimed the 100 back in 50.39.

Granite Bay won tight victories in both the 200 medley relay (1:37.97) and 200 free relay (1:26.70), while Jesuit beat the field in the 400 free relay, posting a 3:07.66.
