NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has received a new commitment for Fall 2024 from U.S. Open qualifier Thomas Aguero, a talented breaststroker out of Hollister, California.

He told Swimming World:

“Words cannot describe my excitement to announce my commitment to the University of Tennessee! I’m blessed to have this opportunity to train and compete alongside an extremely talented and passionate group of athletes and coaches. I would like to thank my parents and my teammates for supporting me and pushing me all this time. As well as all my coaches from Makos to SCSC to QSS. I would like to especially thank Coach Andre Salles-Cunha for being an amazing coach for me these past few years, and helping me achieve great things in my career. I’m beyond excited for what’s to come!  GO VOLS”

Aguero trains year-round with Quicksilver Swimming and placed 12th in the 200m breast and 13th in the 100m breast at Marin Sectionals back in March. He raced to 11th in the 100 breast and 20th in the 200 breast at Juniors West in December.
