Caverly, Jendrick Slated to Race at Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada, June 15. SEVERAL big names will be competing this weekend at the 42nd Annual Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet. The competition runs from Thursday through Saturday at the UBC Aquatic Center in Vancouver.

The American contingent will be highlighted by a pair of Olympians, Kristen Caverly and Megan Jendrick. Caverly competed in Athens last summer in the 200 backstroke and will contest that event this weekend, along with the individual medley disciplines. As for Jendrick (formerly Quann), she was the Olympic gold medalist at the 2000 Sydney Games in the 100 breaststroke.

The meet will also include the participation of the Canadian World Championship Team, which features the likes of freestylers Rick Say and Brent Hayden. Mike Brown (breaststroke) and Brittany Reimer (distance freestyle) will also be in action.
