NEW COMMIT: Nashport, Ohio native Caroline Holmes has recently announced her commitment to Hillsdale College and will suit up for the Chargers as a member of the class of 2024.

Holmes swims year-round with Pau Hana Swim Team and earned a best time at Geneva Futures this past summer after finaling in the 100m back at Ohio LCM Seniors. Last winter, she was the 100 back runner-up and took seventh in the 200 free at the Ned Reeb Invite before going on to race four events at TYR Junior Nationals. A current senior at Tri Valley High School, Holmes was a USA Swimming Safe Sport fellow in 2018 and is currently an athlete representative on the USA Swimming Disability National Committee.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my commitment to study and swim at Hillsdale College! The school’s academic reputation is incomparable, and the swim team and program is a perfect fit for me. Thank you to my family, friends, teachers, and coaches for helping me achieve my dream of becoming a college student-athlete! GO CHARGERS!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.99
  • 100 free – 53.76
  • 200 free – 1:55.66
  • 100 fly – 58.58
  • 100 back – 58.04
  • 200 back – 2:08.42

Holmes will make an immediate impact both individually and on relays when she arrives on campus in the fall of 2020 as her best times already rank near the top of Hillsdale’s lineup. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 fly, 100 back, 200 back, 100 free, and 200 free at the 2019 GMAC Championships.
