Caroline Colombo of Upper Arlington Swim Club Commits to Butler
NEW COMMIT: Butler University has received a new commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from sprint freestyler and backstroker Carolina Colombo of Columbus, Ohio.
She told Swimming World:
“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swim careers at Butler University! A big thanks to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates who have supported and believed in me throughout this process! Can’t wait for the next 4 years as a bulldog! #GODAWGS”
Colombo, who trains year-round with Upper Arlington Swim Club, earned a pair of best times at the Ned Reeb Invitational in December 2019. In July 2019, she finished 12th in the 50m back at the Ohio LCM Senior Championships.

Her best times include:
- 50 back – 27.58
- 100 back – 58.01
- 50 free – 24.54
- 100 free – 53.04
- 200 free – 1:56.60
Also competing for Upper Arlington High School, Colombo swam the lead-off leg on her team’s 4×50 and 4×100 free relays at the Ohio State Championships during her junior season.
Colombo will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Bulldogs as a member of their Class of 2025. She would’ve been their second-fastest 100 backstroker last season and would’ve been their third-fastest 100 freestyler.
