NEW COMMIT: Carmel, Ind. native and current high school senior Morgan Croaning has announced her verbal commitment to Ohio University and will join the Bobcats in the fall of 2020.

Croaning swims year-round with Carmel Swim Club and most recently placed 14th in the 400m IM and 16th in the 200m fly at Indiana LCM Seniors to cap off a stellar summer season. She recorded 100% best times at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals in March after winning the 200 fly at the Speedo Music City Invitational in November. Also competing for the dominant Carmel High School, Croaning finished sixth in the 500 free as a junior to help her team earn their 33rd-straight state title.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Ohio University! I want to thank everyone who has been there for me along this journey! #GoBobcats”

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 57.00
  • 200 fly – 2:04.38
  • 400 IM – 4:33.77
  • 500 free – 4:59.50
  • 1650 free – 17:44.74

Croaning will add valuable depth to Ohio’s lineup when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024 as her best times already rank near the top of their roster. She has consistently made improvements each season and is just on the edge of scoring range in multiple events at the MAC Championships.
