NEW COMMIT: Carmel, Ind. backstroker Colleen Duffy has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Missouri and will suit up for the Tigers as a member of the class of 2025.

She will join Taylor Williams on campus in Columbia at the start of the 2021-22 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming careers at the University of Missouri!! Thank you to my parents, friends, and coaches for helping me along the way. Go Tigers!!”

Duffy, who owns a U.S. Open cut and three Junior National standards, swims year-round with Carmel Swim Club and earned two best times at Juniors East in December. Last summer, she raced to fifth in the 50m free at Indiana LCM Seniors before going on to race three events at Junior Nationals.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 25.72
  • 100 back – 54.91
  • 200 back – 2:01.24
  • 50 free – 23.29

Also competing for the legendary Carmel High School, Duffy recently helped her team achieve their 34th-straight Indiana State Championship title. As a junior, she finished fifth in the 100 back and sixth in the 50 free while swimming on two of the Greyhounds’ winning relays.

She took sixth in the 100 back and was the 50 free runner-up during her sophomore season and finished eighth and 12th, respectively, in those events as a freshman. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.
