Carmel Swim Club’s Brandon Malicki Chooses Xavier
NEW COMMIT: Xavier University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from JUnior National qualifier Brandon Malicki of Carmel, Indiana.
He told Swimming World:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Xavier University! I’d like to thank my family, coaches and friends for all the help along this journey! GO MUSKETEERS !!!”
Malicki trains year-round with the elite Carmel Swim Club and most recently earned three best times at Junior Nationals this past summer. He placed 24th in the 100 breast at Juniors East last December, too, and raced at the FINA World Cup in Indianapolis.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 54.98
- 200 breast – 2:03.14
- 200 IM – 1:50.73
Currently a senior at Carmel High School, Malicki placed fifth in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 IM at the 2023 Indiana State Championship. He finished fifth and 11th, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season.
He’s a great pickup for the Musketeers, as his top 100 breast time already ranks fourth all-time in program history.
