Canisius Hires Zewe as Diving Coach

BUFFALO, New York, September 13. CANISIUS College head coach Laura Trzybinski announced today that James Zewe has joined the program as its diving coach for the 2006-07 season.

“I am so happy to announce the addition of James to our staff. I have been fortunate to know James as a fellow student-athlete, and now look forward to having him coach alongside me,” Trzybinski said. “He has a solid understanding of the basics of diving, and the experience to take our divers to the next level. I am confident that with his knowledge and expertise, our divers will rise to the top of the MAAC.”

A 2005 graduate of St. Bonaventure University in marketing, Zewe was a four-year letterwinner on the diving team. The Dunkirk, N.Y., native finished in the top 10 in each of his four years at the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Zewe was a swimming and diving instructor for six years at Dunkirk High School where he helped coach and coordinate diving camps at SUNY Fredonia. He also assisted in coaching the Southern Tier Diving Club at St. Bonaventure and was asked to coach at the 2005 Penn State Diving Clinics.
