California Interscholastic Federation San Francisco Championships

SAN FRANCISCO, California, May 13. LOWELL took first place at the California Interscholastic Federation San Francisco Championships. For the girls, Lowell scored 119 points followed by Lincoln (94) and Washington (55). On the boys' side, Lowell captured the state title with 130 points while Washington took second (71) and Lincoln finished third (41).

Girls Results
Lincoln's Roselin Sretpisalsilp won the 200 IM (2:20.19) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.13) while her teammate, Kristie Chan, had individual wins in the 50 (25.44) and 100 (55.64) freestyles. They also teamed up with Aileen and Cynthia Tran for a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:57.63).

Monica Morucci of Lowell won the 100 butterfly (1:03.59) and the 500 freestyle (5:44.68).

Freshman Verna Huang won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:07.42. She joined teammates Sretpisalsilp, C. Tran, and Chan in the 200 freestyle relay for a first-place finish (1:48.14).

Christina Loo (Lowell) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.52. She closed the meet with Cerise Tang, Erica Fung, and Morucci for a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:57.25).

Boys Results
Lowell's Stanford Chun won the 200 freestyle (1:53.75) and the 100 butterfly (58.20), while his teammate, Stanton Huang, won the 200 IM (2:08.75) and the 100 freestyle (51.27). They also teamed up with Anthony Li and Kevin Lee for a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:47.41). Li also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.43.

Junior Nicholas Kwan (Lowell) touched out his competition in the 50 freestyle. He finished first with a time of 24.34. He joined Li, Chioke Bautista and Henry Quach for a win in the 200 freestyle relay as well (1:38.27).

Jeffrey Lau combined with Huang, Chun, and Lee for a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:30.17). He also clocked a time of 5:25.12 in the 500 freestyle for an individual win.
