NEW COMMIT: Solana Beach, Calif. native Dani Rosenthal has given her verbal pledge to in-state Cal Poly and will join the Mustangs as a member of the class of 2023.

Rosenthal swims year-round with Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100m breast. She capped off her summer season with a win in the 200m breast at the San Diego Junior Olympics after finaling in both breaststroke events at Santa Clarita Sectionals. Also swimming for Torrey Pines High School, Rosenthal placed second in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200 IM at the CIF San Diego Section 1 Championships as a junior and was the runner-up in both events CIF-Central Sections during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“So stoked to announce my commitment to swim next year at Cal Poly SLO! A huge thanks to everyone who has helped make this a possibility for me. I’m beyond excited for what’s to come!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:04.30
  • 200 breast – 2:22.60
  • 200 IM – 2:07.40

When Rosenthal suits up for Cal Poly next fall, she will make an immediate impact in their breaststroke group: she would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100 breast at the 2018 MPSF Championships.
