FAIRFAX, Virginia, February 28. TWO individual records fell on the second day of the 2008 CAA Swimming & Diving Championships. Towson leads the women's championship with 268 points, followed by host George Mason with 200 and William & Mary with 182. On the men's side, UNC Wilmington remains in first place with 264 points, ahead of George Mason with 217 points and Old Dominion with 193 points.
William & Mary sophomore Katie Radloff captured her seventh CAA title finishing the 50 freestlye in a conference championship record 22.61 seconds. Her time also broke a pool record and a league-best 22.75 set by Towson's Jen Irby in 2005. Radloff's finish was one-hundredth of a second under the NCAA automatic-qualifying standard.
Towson freshman Meredith Budner set a meet record in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 4:50.72 in the preliminaries and winning the event with a pace of 4:49.15. The time was also an NCAA ‘B' cut.
