BYU Men Favored To Win Mountain West Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo, October 3, IN a vote by the league's coaches, BYU was favored to win this year's Mountain West Conference championship in men's swimming and diving.

With four first place votes and a total of 16 points, BYU was able to receive the highest spot in the men's poll. Air Force totaled 12 points to come in second place, while UNLV totaled 10 points, coming in third place. Wyoming captured fourth place with seven points, and Utah came in fifth with five points.

For women's swimming, Colorado State, with a score of 46 points, received four first place votes and got the top spot in the poll. With 44 points, BYU was predicted to finish second, receiving three first place votes. Utah came in third with 36 points, getting the remaining first place nod. UNLV, with 33 points, came in fourth, and New Mexico, with 25 points, came in fifth. With 19 points, Wyoming came in sixth. San Diego State (12 points) came in seventh and Air Force (9 points) came in eighth.

Fans will be able to see BYU swimming in the upcoming Alumni Meet in Provo on October 10 at 6 p.m.
