NEW COMMIT: Boise State has earned their first verbal commitment for the fall of 2019 from Spokane, Wash. breaststroker Delaney Phillips.

Phillips does her club swimming with Spokane Waves Aquatic Team and recorded three personal bests at NCSAs over the summer after a strong showing at Mount Hood Speedo Sectionals. She had a trio of top-15 finishes at Washington Seniors last winter followed by five lifetime bests and three second swims at Federal Way Speedo Sectionals in March.

She told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Boise State University! I would like to personally thank my coaches, my parents, and my teammates for always being there for me through everything! I can’t wait to begin this new and exciting chapter in my life. Go Broncos!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:05.66
  • 200 breast – 2:19.88
  • 200 IM – 2:07.34

Phillips will add valuable breaststroke depth when she suits up for the Broncos as a member of the class of 2023. Her best 200 breast time would’ve scored in the B-final of the 2018 Mountain West Championships where Boise State won their second-straight conference crown.
