Brendan Hansen’s Olympic Gold Medal Missing; Passenger Does Good, Turns in Found Gold

AUSTIN, Texas, September 15. ACCORDING to several media reports, Brendan Hansen's gold medal won as part of the men's 400 medley relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics had gone missing at one point.

Hansen noticed that the medal was gone from his baggage during a flight from his hometown in Pennsylvania to his house in Texas.

The tragedy was averted however when a passenger found Hansen's medal and turned it into authorities. Talk about a close call.

Hansen won the medal en route to helping Michael Phelps clinch his unprecedented eighth gold medal at the meet.
