Brazilian Age Group Record Holder Lucas Tudoras Verbally Commits to Princeton

NEW COMMIT: Princeton University has picked up a new verbal commitment* for the fall of 2022 from multi-time Brazilian age group record holder Lucas Tudoras out of Sao Paulo.

He will join Conor McKenna and Lucas Strobek as a member of the Tigers’ Class of 2026.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m thrilled and honored to announce my verbal commitment to the application process at Princeton University! I would like to thank my family, my coaches, my teachers, my teammates, my girlfriend, and my friends for all of their support. Go Tigers!”

A versatile swimmer, Tudoras trains with Clube Paineiras do Morumby and holds 10 Brazilian age group records. He won 15 medals – 10 individual and 5 relays – at the 2019 South American Youth Championship and won the high point award for the meet. His most recent meet was the Trofeo Brasil de Nataçao in December 2020 where he earned four new best times.

In 2020, he was named “The Best 13-14 Years Brazilian Male Swimmer of the Decade” by Best Swimming.

When he suits up for the Tigers next year, Tudoras will add valuable depth in a number of different events. Under head coach Matt Crispino, Princeton finished second at the 2020 Ivy League Championships behind Harvard.
