Boston College Sweeps Brandeis, 141-117 Women/141-112 Men
WALTHAM, Massachusetts, October 18. THE Boston College men's and women's swimming and diving teams soundly defeated Brandeis University on Wednesday at Linsey Pool. It was the second win of the season for the women and first overall meet for the men.
The men beat the Judges 141-112, while the women won 141-117. Three swimmers won two events for the Eagles. On the men's side, junior Billy Schwitter won both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. Freshman Katie Mulligan won both the 100 and 200 yard butterfly while teammate Caitlin Doherty won the 1000 yard freestyle as well as the 100 for the women.
Freshman Michael Hogan placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle with senior tri-captains Dan kollar and Andy Faughnan finishing second and third behind him respectively. Freshmen Kristin Ryan and Caryn Switaj also picked up wins for the Eagles in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle.
The Eagles swept the diving competition, with junior Maeve Brennan and senior Christopher Wilson-Byrne winning the 1-meter events.
