Swimmers in the Big Ten will be spread around the country this week.
Several athletes will be competing at USA Winter Nationals, while the University of Michigan will clash with some of the country’s best teams at the Georgia Fall Invitational.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin will compete at the Texas Invitational, also loaded with top competition.
But there will be two other meets in the Big Ten this week.
Indiana will compete at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational from Thursday-Saturday. Minnesota also will host its annual Jean Freeman Invitational.
With many athletes at USA Winter Nationals, this is a huge opportunity for many second-tier swimmers to have some great racing to end the first semester on a high note.
The Big Ten Championships will be here before you know it and the contending teams will need everyone they can get to score points and this weekend will help prepare those who are on the cusp of becoming that scoring threat in the Big Ten.
