Biagioli Breaks National Record in 400 Free at Argentina Short Course Nationals

CORDOBA, Argentina, June 21. COMPETING at the Argentina Short Course Championships from June 16-19, Cecilia Biagioli blasted her own national record in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:10.19. Biagioli entered the competition with the record sitting at 4:13.89. Last summer, the 20-year-old contested the 400 free at the Athens Olympics, finishing 22nd.

Coached by Daniel Garimaldi and representing Club Universitario, Biagioli also notched victories in the 100 freestyle and 200 free and earned second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley, 400 I.M., 50 free and 800 free. Other impressive swims were turned in by Jose Martin Meolans in the 50 free (22.12) and 200 free (1:46.07) and by Kristel Kobrich in the 800 free (8:38.77).
