Beck Posts Olympic Trial Cut in 200 IM at Houston Speedo Champions Series Sectional

HOUSTON, Texas, July 29. SPINDRIFT Beck put on a sterling performance in the 200-meter IM at the Houston Speedo Champions Series Sectionals on Saturday with an Olympic Trial cut in the event. She clocked a 2:19.81 to claim the crown.

Four swimmers posted national cuts throughout the rest of the final day as Connie Brown (26.50) and Hee-Jan Chang (26.73) went one-two in the 50-meter freestyle and Scott McCracken (23.69) and Shame Milu (23.76) did the same in the men’s side of the event.

Other winners on the day were Liz Nelson with a 17:13.82 in the 1500-meter freestyle, Carol McElhany with a 2:17.74 in the 200-meter butterfly, Sean Leneave with a 2:06.07 in the 200-meter butterfly, Tommy Bishop with a 16:24.60 in the 1500-meter freestyle and Tim Hansen with a 2:09.65 in the 200-meter IM.
