Bean Faunce Announces Verbal Commitment to Alabama

Alina “Bean” Faunce has given her verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. Faunce is a butterfly and IM specialist who swims with T2 Aquatics in Florida.
Faunce’s best times are:
Swimming for Estero High School, Faunce holds school records in the 100 butterfly and breaststroke and the 200 IM and all three relays. At the 2015 3A state championships, Faunce split at 26.54 on the butterfly leg of the sixth place Estero 200 medley relay. With a 2:07.86 she touched fifth in the 200 IM. Faunce finished fourth in the 100 butterfly in a lifetime best of 56.53. She also led off the school’s 400 freestyle relay in 54.07. The high school senior is also a Scholastic All-American.
The Tide finished tenth at the 2016 SEC Championships. Making finals of the 200 butterfly required swimming under two minutes last year, a mark Faunce could be closing in on. In the 100 butterfly, a second swim took a 53.81.
