For many athletes, there is no worse fear than slipping on the start of their race. Unfortunately, that circumstance happened to Austin Katz on night two of competition.

Katz took time to discuss his slip on his start with the press and how it affected his mentality in the men’s 200 back race, but he also took time to talk about the transition coming from the World University Games (WUGs) to the National Championships.

One thing Katz made sure to highlight was that he has several aspects of his race and stroke that he wants to work on and improve upon prior to next summer’s Olympic Trials, which he outlined in the interview.
