NEW COMMIT: Fishers, Ind. native Drake Stallworth will make his way down south next fall after verbally committing to the Auburn Tigers.

Stallworth does his club swimming with Fishers Area Swimming Tigers (FAST) and has met the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 fly. He swam a trio of best times at NCSAs this summer and was a three-time finalist at Indiana Seniors. He placed eighth in both fly events Indiana Seniors in March and time trialed the 100 fly at Juniors East last winter.

Stallworth also swims for Fishers High School and is a four-time Indiana State Championship finalist. He finished fifth in the 100 fly and sixth in the 200 free as a junior after winning both events at Indiana Sectionals a week prior. He also finished seventh and 12th, respectively, in those events at State during his sophomore season.

He told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to Auburn University! When I visited the campus and met the coaching staff, I immediately knew it was the right place for me. The best word to describe my experience is “magical”, and I am truly grateful for having this opportunity to compete at such a high level.”

His best times include:

  • 100 fly – 49.78
  • 200 fly – 1:52.52
  • 100 free – 47.19
  • 200 free – 1:40.95

When he suits up for the Tigers next fall, Stallworth will join a fly group that includes Santiago Grassi and Christian Ginieczki. Although he sits outside of scoring range at the SEC Championships, Stallworth has made significant improvements each season with just under a year of club swimming still to go.
