NEW COMMIT: Auburn University has landed a new verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from Olympic Trials qualifier Aislyn Barnett of Littleton, Colorado.

She will join Morgan Carteaux as a member of the Tigers’ Class of 2027.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so incredibly thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Auburn University!! I cannot thank my teammates, friends, coaches and family enough for all their love and support through this process. God is so good! Can’t wait to be a tiger! WAR EAGLE!!”

A talented breaststroker, Barnett trains with Aces Swim Club and finaled in four events at Western Zone Seniors this past summer after racing the 200m breast at Olympic Trials Wave II. Last winter, she placed eighth in the 200m breast at the U.S. Open and took ninth in the 200 breast at Juniors West in 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:02.44
  • 200 breast – 2:12.99
  • 100m breast – 1:11.75
  • 200m breast – 2:30.48

Currently a junior at Heritage High School, Barnett won the 100 breast and took third in the 200 IM as a sophomore at the Colorado 4A State Championships. As a freshman, she was the runner-up in the 100 breast at the 5A state meet.

Barnett is a great pickup for Auburn, as her best time in the 200 breast is already fast enough to score in the C-final at the SEC Championships.
