Arkansas Swims Past Kansas in Non-Conference Dual

The Arkansas women’s swim team followed up its string of dominant home wins with a solid win on the road to round out their regular season schedule. The Hogs toppled the University of Kansas Jayhawks by a 44-point margin, making the final score 172-128.

The Razorbacks won 14 of the 16 events with Kansas picking up their two event wins in 3-meter diving and 200 Fly.

“I was very happy with how the team responded to another week of hard work by getting off the bus and performing strongly,” said Arkansas coach Neil Harper.

Arkansas started with a win in the 400 medley relay as Adela Vavrinova, Alessia Ferraguti, Betsy Wizard and Maddy Hartley finished in 3:45.01.

Sydney Craft won the 1000 freestyle in 10:17.69 and 500 free (5:05.11). Bella Cothern won the 50 free in 23.34 and 100 free in 51.18. Bara Matoskova won the 200 back (2:03.23).

Wizard won the 200 free in 1:53.09 and the 100 fly in 55.30. Vavrinova won the 100 backstroke in 56.83 and 400 IM in 4:26.21. Ferraguti won the 100 breaststroke (1:03.03) and 200 breast (2:17.69).

Arkansas finished the day with Cothern, Delaney Harrison, Ferraguti and Gracie Colvin winning the 200 free in 1:34.23.

In the one-meter dive, Kansas’ Shiyun Lai led the way with a total of 319.20. Gabriella San Juan won 3-meter with 346.35.

Amelie Lessing won the 200-yard butterfly, with a time of 2:03.75 for the Jayhawks.
