Arkansas Little Rock Snags First 2021 Verbal from Texas Freestyler Lara Alsader

NEW COMMIT: The University of Arkansas, Little Rock has officially opened up their class of 2025 recruiting after receiving a verbal commitment from Lara Alsader of Allen, Texas.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock! I want to thank my family, coaches, and friends for being my biggest supporters and getting me to where I am today. I am so excited to be apart of this team! Go Trojans!”

A talented freestyler and IMer, Alsader does her club swimming with Metroplex Aquatics and most recently earned four best times at College Station Sectionals where she finished 16th in the mile. Last summer, she won the 800m free at the Bill Nixon Memorial meet in June.

Her best times include:

200 free – 1:56.71
500 free – 5:03.55
1000 free – 10:39.00
200 IM – 2:11.68
400 IM – 4:37.22

Also competing for Allen High School, Alsader is a five-time UIL Texas 6A Region 02 Championship finalist. She raced to eighth in the 500 free as a junior while taking 10th in that event as well as seventh in the 200 free during her sophomore season.
