NEW COMMIT: Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Natalie Jones has given her verbal commitment to the University of Arkansas for the fall of 2019.

Jones does her club swimming with Charger Aquatics under Tom Cyprus and is a two-time Junior National qualifier. She most recently competed at the American Long Course meet in July where she recorded a pair of lifetime bests. She raced three events at Juniors West last winter and made two finals appearances at Federal Way Speedo Sectionals.

Jones has also seen great success for La Cueva High School and is a three-time NMAA State Championships qualifier. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 50 free and was the 100 free runner-up during her junior season after claiming the splash-and-dash title during both her freshman and sophomore years as well.

She told Swimming World:

“I grew up in the south so finding out a SEC school wanted me to be on their team was super exciting. I want to take this moment to thank my family, coaches, and fellow swimmers for helping me make this decision. I can’t wait to join the Razorback family.”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.26
  • 100 free – 50.82
  • 200 fre – 1:52.66
  • 100 fly – 56.75

Jones will add valuable depth for the Razorbacks when she arrives in Fayetteville for the 2019-20 season following the graduation of their top returning sprinter. Her fastest 50 free time would’ve ranked third on their roster last year while her 100 free would’ve sat in fourth.
