NEW COMMIT: Collierville, Tenn. native Erin Milligan has committed to Arizona State University and will suit up for the Sun Devils as a member of the class of 2024.

Milligan does her club swimming with Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club and owns the U.S. Open cut in the 50m free with the Summer Juniors standard in the 100m free. She capped off her summer season by racing the 100m free at Junior Nationals after placing seventh in that event at the Southeastern LCM Championships. Last winter, she notched two best times at Juniors East.

Also competing for Collierville High School, Milligan is a six-time TISCA State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American took third in the 100 free and fifth in the 200 IM as a junior while placing second and ninth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season. She also took third and sixth in those events during her rookie campaign.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“Super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Arizona State University! I chose ASU because of the incredible coaching staff and welcoming team. Can’t wait to be a sun devil! Thank you to everyone who has helped make this dream come true! #fearthefork”

Her best times include (SCY/LCM):

  • 50 free – 24.05/26.66
  • 100 free – 50.65/56.98
  • 200 free – 1:52.84/2:06.73
  • 200 IM – 2:05.42/2:23.66
  • 400 IM – 4:29.40/5:05.91

Milligan will add much-needed sprint depth to the Sun Devils’ lineup when she arrives in Tempe at the start of the 2020-21 season. She has seen some big time drops over the past year, shaving off nearly two seconds in the 100 free and one second in the 50 free.
