Antonio Jose Silva Re-Elected President of Portuguese Swimming Federation
The Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN) re-elected Antonio Jose Silva to a second four-year term as President. The election took place Saturday at the FPN General Assembly in Oeiras, and Silva was running unopposed.
“I am delighted with this vote because it shows consensus and underlines the quality of the project and the people involved that is critical to all the people swimming. We will now continue the plan of action for us started with the first term,” Silva said, according to a rough translation.
Six Vice Presidents were elected to serve on the new board (Nuno Batalha, Vera Costa, Jorge da Cruz, Alesxander Esteves, Jose Miranda and Rui Sardinha), which will meet for the first time Nov. 5. The seven new elected officials will serve through the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
