Amalie Fackenthal Adds Verbal Commitment to Stanford Class of 2022

NEW COMMIT: Stanford University is putting together another wildly impressive recruiting class. The defending NCAA Champions have added a verbal commitment from sprinter Amalie Fackenthal. The Cardinal Class of 2022 now has verbal commitments from Allie RaabAnya GoedersTaylor Ruck, and Zoe Bartel.

Fackenthal, a rising senior at Sacramento Day School, is a two time defending California high school state champion. She won both the 50 and 100 freestyle events this year. She’s a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American who trains with the Davis Aquadarts Racing Team.

Fackenthal could be a key sprint piece for Stanford, with range from freestyle to butterfly. Her top times are:

  • 50 Free 22.38
  • 100 Free 48.62
  • 200 Free 1:49.10
  • 50 Fly 24.24
  • 100 Fly 52.78

In her announcement made on Twitter she wrote,

“I’m incredibly blessed and excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at Stanford University!! Class of 2022”

The correct name of the school at which Amalie is a rising senior is Sacramento COUNTRY Day School. Come on, Swimming World! Get it right!
