NEW COMMIT: Spring, Texas native Alyssa Sorensen has announced her verbal commitment to Brigham Young University and will arrive in Provo in the fall of 2021.

The Sorensens are no strangers to BYU’s program. Her older brother, Ryan, is currently a junior on the team while her other siblings, Chad and Allie, also swam for the Cougars.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I chose Brigham Young University because it is my dream school with all my favorite things in one university. The team felt like a family and I loved the coaches. The campus was absolutely beautiful and while I was there, I got to see what I would do and where I would go for my Major in Communications. My three older siblings all attended and swam for this University as well, but it wasn’t until I talked with the coaches, and visited the campus when I decided that I loved this school and wanted to make my own decision to come here as well. Not to mention, while I was there we went to the football game against USC and we won and stormed the field. This topped off the trip and I went home but left part of my heart in Provo for me to soon return to.”
