Alex Robinson Brings Backstroke Talents to Alabama

Alex Robinson (Christopher Robinson) has given his verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. Robinson is a backstroker and distance swimmer at Memphis Tiger Swim Club in Memphis, Tennessee.

His best times are:

Robinson shared that he has long standing connections to Alabama, “The University of Alabama has always been about family for me. I will always remember going to my granddad’s house with the Bear Bryant room and cheering for the Tide.”

He chose to make Tuscaloosa his home for the next four years, “Then, when I visited on my recruit trip….It felt like family…it felt like home. Bama is in my blood…..RTR.”

The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American attends Memphis University School. At the 2016 Tennessee High School State Championships, he earned bronze in the 200 freestyle and earned runner up honors in the 100 backstroke. Robinson also led (45.78) his school’s 400 freestyle relay to a state title. He also led off the winning 200 medley relay. This summer he swam the 100 backstroke at Olympic Trials and then added the 1500 to his event line up at US Open.

Joining him in the Tide’s Class of 2021 are Michael Burris and Sam Disette.
