Alabama Rolls In 2024 Verbal From Virginia 6A Runner-Up Lexi Stephens

NEW COMMIT: The University of Alabama has received a new verbal commitment for its Class of 2028 from Lexi Stephens of Moseley, Va.

She will join Marie Landreneau in Tuscaloosa at the start of the 2024-25 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am SUPER excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Alabama!!! I would like to give a huge thank you to my coaches, family, and friends who have supported me throughout this process! I would also like to thank all the coaches at Alabama for giving me this amazing opportunity. ROLL TIDE!!❤️🐘”

Stephens trains year-round with Poseidon Swimming and finished 11th in the 200 back and 18th in the 100 back at Juniors East last month. This past summer, she had five top-10 finishes at Virginia LCM Seniors before going on to take 22nd in the 200m back at Junior Nationals.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 25.18
  • 100 back – 53.79
  • 200 back – 1:56.56
  • 100 fly – 54.25
  • 400 IM – 4:24.10
  • 200 IM – 2:02.39
  • 50 free – 23.73
  • 100 free – 52.23
  • 100 breast – 1:07.00

Currently a junior at Cosby High School, Stephens has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors. She earned silver in the 100 back and bronze in the 100 fly at the 2022 Virginia 6A State Championships, taking fourth and sixth, respectively, in those events as a freshman.
