NEW COMMIT: Orinda, Calif. native Aidan Vollmar has announced his in-state commitment to the University of the Pacific and will suit up for the Tigers in the fall of 2020.

Vollmar does his club swimming with Orinda Aquatics and recently competed on three relays at Juniors West in December after winning the 100 breast and 200 IM at the WCAB Senior Meet. This past summer, he recorded a pair of best times at Far Westerns and had three top-15 finishes at Arena Western Zones. Also competing for Campolindo High School, Vollmar raced the 200 free at the CIF State Championships during his junior season.

He told Swimming World:

“I’m honored to announce my commitment to swim at UOP! The combination of a great academic fit, amazing coaches and teammates, and terrific facilities is what made Pacific the clear choice for me. Thank you so much to Coach Katelyne and Coach Taylor for helping me through this process, and to my family, Orinda Aquatics coaches, and teammates for helping me become the athlete I am now. I’m thrilled for the next 4 years, GO TIGERS!”

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 21.95
  • 100 free – 46.45
  • 100 breast – 57.84
  • 200 IM – 1:53.50

Vollmar will add valuable depth to the Tigers’ lineup in a number of different events when he arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024. Although he’s not in scoring range just yet at the MPSF Championships, he has made big improvements each season.
