In the final stretch before the Big 12 Conference Championship, the teams took on conference rivals and hosted senior meets. Here are the big stories from the Big 12 this past week.
Top Stories
- Texas isn’t messing around. In the senior meet dual against conference rival TCU, the No. 1/No. 4 Texas Longhorns mixed it up, put some people in off events, and still dominated the pool. A couple of dominating swims in the 1650 free and sweeps in the 100s of stroke proved the Longhorns have depth that’s not to be messed with.
- Kansas and Iowa State’s dual was exciting and close, even if Kansas pulled it off in the end. The divers kept the meet close, as did several key swims from the Iowa State sophomore Kasey Roberts.
- The West Virginia divers took on the field at the James Madison Diving Invitational in the hopes of qualifying for the Zone meets. The men finished in second, third, and fourth in both events, while the women finished with four top-20 finishes.
