The final session of the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships was capped by Stanford winning its third consecutive team championship, holding off Cal.
Wisconsin’s Beata Nelson won the 200 back, her third event of the meet. Louisville’s Mallory Comerford won the 100 free, her first title in that event. Comerford won the 200 free on Friday night.
Indiana senior Lilly King earned her fourth straight 200 breast crown on the last night. She is the first woman in Division I to ever win all eight breaststroke titles in her career.
USC’s Louise Hansson won the 200 fly, her second win of the meet.
Cal rested Abbey Weitzeil on the 400 free relay this morning after Weitzeil appeared to injure her arm after the 200 medley relay, but she anchored the 400 free relay to a comeback win and NCAA record to close the meet.
Swimming World’s Peter Bick has been on deck capturing some of the images and emotions of the meet. Splash through his gallery from Saturday prelims below.
