Some of the biggest names in swimming are slated to participate in next week’s U.S. Winter National Championships in Greensboro, N.C.

The meet runs Nov. 28-Dec. 1.

As per usual in winter national events, there are very few current collegiate swimmers in the long-course competition. They are in the middle of their NCAA short-course seasons.

There is still plenty of star power in the meet as Olympic gold medalists Katie Ledecky, Nathan Adrian and Simone Manuel lead the field, along with a return of fellow gold medalist — and mother — Dana Vollmer, who skipped most of the summer.

Another return competitor is Madisyn Cox, who will compete in her first big meet since January after serving a 6-month doping suspension.

National team members Chase Kalisz, Hali Flickinger, Cody Miller, Margo Geer, Michael Chadwick, Jay Litherland, Jacob Pebley, Ali DeLoof, Gabby DeLoof, Micah Sumrall and Jordan Wilimovsky are on the list. The World Championship team of Caeleb Dressel, Michael Andrew, Kathleen Baker and Leah Smith is not entered.

Missy Franklin also is not entered in the meet. She made a comeback this summer and competed in several big meets, but is skipping this one.
