The third night of action at the 2017 NCAA Men’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships will kick off Friday night at the IU Natatorium from Indianapolis, Indiana and more records could fall. Through two days of competition, three NCAA record have fallen in the 800 free relay, 500 free and 400 medley relay. On Friday night, at least one swimmer in each A-final has won the event at the NCAA Championships before.

Chase Kalisz, Jack Conger, Townley Haas, Will Licon and Connor Oslin are all top seeds in their respective individual events tonight as records could go down in a few of those races.

Kalisz will be looking for his third 400 IM NCAA title to be the sixth swimmer to win at least three 400 IM titles. Conger is still looking for his first individual NCAA title as he is the top seed in the 100 fly. Haas will be looking to repeat in the 200 free to be the first to repeat since Joao de Lucca of Louisville won in 2013 and 2014. Licon will be looking to hold off the field that includes Missouri senior and defending champion Fabian Schwingenschlogl. Oslin will also be looking to unseat three-time defending champion Ryan Murphy of California. Murphy could join USC’s John Naber as the only other swimmer to four peat in the 100 back.

The 200 medley relay will also be a rather tight race with all eight teams separated by less than a second as Texas holds the top seed ahead of California and Missouri. Missouri has never won a relay title at the NCAA Championships so history could be made at the pool tonight.

Finals will begin at 6 p.m. EST with the 400 IM kicking things off.
