The United States Olympic Committee and CoSport are pleased to announce that Individual Tickets for the 2016 Rio Olympics will be available exclusively through cosport.com starting today at 10 a.m. ET. CoSport has been appointed by the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee as the sole Authorized Ticket Reseller in the United States.

On Aug. 5, 2016, the world will come together in Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, followed by 16 days of competition in one of Brazil’s most unique destinations.

In order to secure Individual Tickets offered as part of the initial sales phase, U.S. residents are invited to create a cosport.com account and submit a non-binding ticket request by 2 p.m. ET May 4, 2015. All ticket requests submitted successfully the deadline will be given equal consideration regardless of when they were submitted within the ticket request phase. Interested buyers should carefully consider the event schedule, venue locations, budget and other factors before submitting a request. At the end of the request phase, no changes to ticket requests will be permitted.

Once the inventory is established, CoSport will confirm which of the requested tickets will be offered for purchase by May 11, 2015. At that point, payment must be processed by 2 p.m. ET May 15, 2015. The next opportunity to purchase tickets will occur as part of a live sales process (first come, first served) starting at 10 a.m. ET May 19, 2015.

Hotel and Ticket Packages from CoSport will be available exclusively through cosport.com to the American public in the coming weeks. The exact date and time will be posted to cosport.com and communicated to CoSport accountholders.

“CoSport has a deep knowledge of Brazil and is preparing to welcome fans of Team USA with an exciting variety of Individual Ticket and Package options,” said CoSport President Robert F. Long. “Our Hotel and Tickets Packages especially simplify attending the Rio 2016 Olympic Games so our guests can focus on enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
