Late night action on day one did not seem to slow down the swimmers on day two.

Check out the full results from day two prelims here.

Katie Ledecky posted a new Olympic record in the women’s 400 freestyle and flirted with her own world record this morning.

The Americans and Australians pushed their way back into the mix in the men’s 400 freestyle relays after disappointing showings last summer at World Championships. They trail the Russians heading into finals.

Defending gold and silver medalist Yannick Agnel and Park Tae Hwan did not make it past preliminaries in the men’s 200 freestyle. Sun Yang led the way in that event, though he’ll head to semifinals in swift company.

While her swim was met with boos from the crowd, Yulia Efimova turned in the second best time of the morning in the women’s 100 breaststroke. American Lilly King was .01 faster than the Russian with a 1:05.78.

USA Today Sports has been on hand capturing all of the action and excitement, view our photo gallery below from prelims of day two.

I say our Lilly King can beat Efimova fair and square! Lilly is the Class of this field, and that includes BOTH the 100 and 200 events! Go Lilly! Go Lilly!

We need more Lily Kings willing to speak up. Efimova has been known as a repeat cheater and never should have been allowed back into the pool.
The Bronze medal swimmer was robbed of her Silver medal and the
Fourth place swimmer was robbed of a Bronze medal. International Olympic Committee collided with Russia and members should be replaced.
