Notre Dame Picks Up First 2028 Verbal From Futures Finalist Liliana Quevedo
NEW COMMIT: Reno, Nevada native Liliana Quevedo has handed the University of Notre Dame its first public verbal commitment for Fall 2028. Quevedo is a Junior National qualifier who excels in breaststroke and IM.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame to further my academic and athletic careers! First, I would like to thank my friends and family for their unconditional love and support. Next, I thank Coach Nened and Sharon, and my trainer Tanner, for their time and dedication to help me succeed to the next level. Lastly, I give a HUGE thanks to the @ndswimdive coaches for allowing me this opportunity! I am so grateful for this next stage in my life and can’t wait to get started! GO IRISH!!”
Quevedo, who trains year-round with Lakeridge Swim Team, most recently competed at Sacramento Futures where she placed fourth in the 200m breast and 17th in both the 100m breast and 200m IM. Last winter, she raced three events at Juniors West before going on to claim gold in the 50 breast and 100 breast at Far Western Championships.
Her best times include:
- 200 breast – 2:14.97
- 100 breast – 1:02.45
- 50 breast – 29.33
- 200 IM – 2:01.73
Currently a junior at Galena High School, Quevedo won the 100 breast and took second in the 200 IM at the 2026 Nevada 5A State Championships. She also swam on the 4×50 medley relay which placed eighth.
Notre Dame finished 11th at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Quevedo would’ve ranked third in the 200 breast and fourth in the 100 breast on the Fighting Irish’s roster last year.
