Louisville Receives 2028 Verbal From Junior National Finalist Robbie Rosenbaum
NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has secured a verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from Island Lake, Ill. native Robbie Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum is a Junior National qualifier who excels in backstroke.
He is UofL’s first public verbal commitment on the men’s side.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Louisville! I want to thank my family and friends for their endless support, along with Coach Rob and Coach Chris at BSC and my high school coaches, Sharon and BJ. I wouldn’t be in this position without their help and guidance. Huge thanks to Coach Arthur, Coach Nick, Coach Kevin, and the rest of the coaching staff at Louisville for this amazing opportunity! 🔴GO CARDS!!”
Rosenbaum trains year-round with Barrington Swim Club and most recently competed at Junior Nationals where he placed fifth in the 100m back and 21st in the 50m back. He earned silver in the 200m back and bronze in the 100m back at Westmont Speedo Sectionals in July.
Back in December, he raced to 21st in the 100 back at Juniors West before going on to take second in the 200 back, third in both the 50 back and 100 back, and seventh in the 100 free at West Fargo Speedo Sectionals in March.
His best times include:
- 50 back – 22.52
- 100 back – 48.15
- 200 back – 1:46.22
- 50 free – 20.91
- 100 free – 45.78
Currently a junior at McHenry Co-Op High School, Rosenbaum placed fourth in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 free at the 2026 Illinois State Championships.
Rosenbaum has dropped significant time in his top events between his freshman and sophomore seasons: 1.2 seconds in the 50 back, 1.4 seconds in the 50 free, 2.2 seconds in the 100 back and six seconds in the 200 back.
Louisville finished fourth at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships and 12th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Last season, 10 members of the men’s team earned All-American honors.
