Olivia Anderson Posts Top Time in 1500 Free During Prelims at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships
Olivia Anderson of Canada topped the competition in the women’s 1500-meter free during prelims of day five of the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships. Anderson turned in a time of 16:37.03 to grab the current top ranking. The fourth and final heat of the event will kick off tonight’s finals session.
Hungary’s Janka Juhasz turned in a finishing time of 16:38.31 to finish second overall in prelims, bettering on her seed time of 16:40.39.
Tamila Holub of Portugal grabbed third in prelims with a final time of 16:43.22, shaving 4.15 seconds off her seed time of 16:43.22.
Australia’s Mikayla Messer finished fourth overall with a time of 16:49.97, while Ireland’s Antoinette Neamt was fifth overall with a final time of 16:55.87.
Mexico’s Natalia Jaspeado posted a final time of 17:01.60 for a sixth place finish, and Canada’s Tessa Cieplucha was close behind with a 17:03.13.
Spain’s Marina Castro rounded out the top eight with a final time of 17:06.14.
