Sean Grieshop Blazes to First in 400 IM Prelims at 2015 FINA World Junior Championships

Sean Grieshop of the USA blazed to first in prelims of the men’s 400-meter IM during day five prelims of the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships with a final time of 4:18.19. Grieshop added slightly to his seed time of 4:17.02.

Spain’s Hugo Gonzalez finished second overall with a time of 4:21.12, shaving 1.11 seconds off his seed time of 4:22.23.

Brandonn Almeida of Brazil and Nikolai Sokolov of Russia battled for the third place seed in heat five, finishing .08 seconds apart. Almeida got to the wall first posting a time of 4:22.67 to claim the third place seed, while Sokolov took fourth with a time of 4:22.75.

Charlie Swanson of the USA grabbed a close fifth in prelims with a final time of 4:22.77 from heat four.

Daniel Sos of Hungary turned in a finishing time of 4:22.98 for the sixth place seed.

China’s Wang Zhou posted a time of 4:24.25 to grab the seventh place seed from heat three, while Portugal’s Joao Vital was eighth with a time of 4:25.23 from the same heat.
