Zoe Dixon Impressive in 400 IM at NCSA Summer Championships; Kledi Kadiu Wins Third Event

Day three at the NCSA Summer Championships in Huntsville, Alabama, included six additional events and two relays. The top performance came from NOVA of Virginia’s Zoe Dixon, who swam a 4:42.25 in the women’s 400 IM. Previously, Dixon had won the 200 fly and finished second in the 200 back in Huntsville, but this victory saw Dixon beat the field by almost nine seconds. The 17-year-old finished 13th at Olympic Trials in June, but this swim was exactly three seconds faster. This time would have put the future Florida Gator seventh in prelims at Olympic Trials.

In the first men’s race of the night, Trey Dickey placed first in the men’s 200 freestyle in 1:51.58, eeking out a 15-hundredth triumph over Matthew Tannenberger, but when he was in the pool again a little while later, he won the 200 butterfly by two seconds, in 2:01.44. The wins were Dickey’s first of the meet.

Meanwhile, CSP’s Kledi Kadiu won the men’s 50 breaststroke for his third triumph of the meet so far. Kadiu previously touched first in the 100 free and 100 breast. Eleni Gewalt took first in the women’s version of the event in 32.46, and the other individual winner was TNT’s Levinia Sim in the women’s 100 back in 1:01.68.

In the women’s 800 freestyle relay, St. Andrews’ team of Erin Miller, Aspen Gersper, Ella Martinez and Anna Auld scored the win in 8:24.34, while in the men’s 200 freestyle relay, Zionsvillle won in 1:34.30 with John Donovan, Charles Krone, William Raches and Will Modglin on the squad.
