Yulia Banech Downs Another Israeli Record

NATANIA, Israel, August 7. AFTER lowered the women's 200 breast national record at the Israeli Summer Nationals held at the Wingate Institute, Yulia Banech downed the 50 breast standard.

Banech clocked a 31.95 to crush her 32.34 national mark set in March. Last night, Banech became the first sub 2:30 Israeli woman with a 2:29.03 in the 200 breast.

Other notable swims from the day included a 27.45 in the men's 50 breast for Mickey Malul, and a 1:49.36 in the 200 free for Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or's third win of the meet. Guy Barnea also won his third title with a 54.59 in the men's 100 back.
