Brandon Dyck from Cary, North Carolina has verbally committed to swim for Florida Southern College for the 2017-2018 school year. Dyck is a home schooled senior who swims primarily back and sprint freestyle with YOTA (YMCA of the Triangle Area). Under Coach Chad Onken, he was a multi-event individual and relay finalist at the 2016 YMCA Short Course Nationals. As a Junior, Dyck also achieved a 2017 Summer Junior LCM (49.63) and a 2016 Winter Junior SCY (1:50.24).

His best SCY times include:
· 100 back – 49.63
· 200 back – 1:50.24
· 50 free – 21.53
· 100 free – 46.95

Dyck said, “I am thrilled to be attending to Florida Southern. When I visited the campus, I knew it was a place where I could both succeed and contribute. Go Mocs!”

Florida Southern won the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Championships. Dyck would have been an A finalist in both backstroke events last year. Marco Palacios won both of those events last year. He is a senior this season and will have graduated by Dyck’s arrival in Lakeland next fall.
