Xavier Musketeers Add Another Class of 2025 Verbal from Futures Qualifier Alexis Worrall
NEW COMMIT: Xavier University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from backstroker and freestyler Alexis Worrall of Victor, N.Y. Currently undecided, she is considering a major in psychology.
She will suit up for the Musketeers as a member of the class of 2025 along with Amy Van Son, Kiara Anchrum, Maddie Agans and Molly Dynda.
She told Swimming World:
“I was very impressed with Xavier’s swim program, the coach and positive attitude of all the swimmers. I also feel that I will get a well-rounded, strong education there as well.”
A Futures qualifier, Worrall does her club swimming with Fairport Area Swim Team and placed 16th in the 50m free at TYR Junior Nationals after recording four top-6 finishes at Niagara Seniors in March 2019. She most recently competed at the WEBS Power Point meet in January where she earned two best times.
Her best times include:
- 50 Free – 23.74
- 100 Free – 51.93
- 200 Free – 1:54.19
- 100 Back – 59.38
- 200 Back – 2:09.53
Also representing Victor High School, Worrall has competed at the New York Federation Championships the last three seasons. She placed 12th in the 100 free and 13th in the 50 free as a junior while taking 29th and 26th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore year.
Worrall will make a big impact in the Musketeers’ sprint and backstroke group when she arrives on campus next year. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 50 free as well as the B-final of the 100 free and 100 back at the 2020 Big East Championships where Xavier finished third overall in the team standings.
